Successful lifting of generator rotor on Right Bank of Baihetan Hydropower Station

The first hydro-generator rotor on the right bank of Baihetan Hydropower Station was successfully lifted yesterday (Sept. 10), marking the world's largest single-unit capacity, with the construction of 1 million kilowatt hydropower station entering the general assembly stage.
Located at the junction of Ningnan County in Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County in Yunnan Province, Baihetan Hydropower Station is located on the lower trunk reach of Jinsha River, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts. It is the largest hydropower project under construction in the world at present. With the total weight of 2295 tons of generator rotor slowly falling into No. 14 engine pit, marking the world's largest single-unit capacity of Baihetan Hydropower Station Construction to open the final assembly.
Rotor is an important component to provide rotating magnetic field and energy conversion for hydro-generator, which determines the stability of hydro-generator. This equipment is fully developed by Harbin Electric Power Group, and ensures that the important parameters of the first rotor are in a high quality level.
